The Technical Specialist Education and Training Group was originally founded to address manpower issues for the various pharmaceutical technical specialist roles in the NHS, the Group has developed a vital role in identifying training requirements and stimulating the provision of targeted education programmes.

The Group is a joint working party of the NHS Pharmaceutical Production, Quality Control and Radiopharmacy Committees and contains representatives of linked organisations.

Current linked organisations include NHS Education and Development Committee, British Parenteral Nutrition Group, British Oncology Pharmacist Group, Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and other specialist from academia, Wales and Scotland.
